Find out why a new - and nationwide unprecedented - democracy centre is to be built in Frankfurt. And why it’s worth sharing your ideas with us for a new House of Democracy.
On May 18, 1848, the first German parliament, the National Assembly, met in the Paulskirche. In 2023, we will celebrate the 175th anniversary of this memorable moment in Germany’s history.
A House of Democracy is to be built next to the Paulskirche.
It will be a place for all people in Germany - and beyond.
From 5 October 2022 till 28 February 2023, we asked you: What should happen in such a house?
Everyone could contribute their ideas - right from the start. That is democracy too.
That is what the online platform is for.
We were on tour in different districts of Frankfurt.
The results will be presented to representatives of the Federal Republic of Germany, the State of Hesse and the City of Frankfurt.
With your ideas, we can build a new House of Democracy.
